The latest addition to Five Points isn’t coming on Park Street, but just behind those buildings that line it.
The Bread &Board restaurant is scheduled to open early next year in the Oak Street spot where Richard’s Sandwich Shoppe stood for 25 years.
Co-owner Dwayne Beliakoff described it as sandwiches and deconstructed sandwiches served on a board.
“We’ll be a full-service restaurant,” he said, “with soups, salads, three or four chef specials for entrees, seasonal vegetable sides and limited desserts. But the focus is on 10 to 12 specialty sandwiches.”
The “board” comes into play because customers can order all the makings of a sandwich on a board rather than on bread. The serving will be a little larger and cost a little more.
